the entity is locked for editing

Can any one tell me why such error message is coming? And how to handle this.

ERROR MESSAGE: 'the entity is locked for editing'

 

I think its coming through Approval process but how to unlock it ?

An administrator or a workflow rule can unlock the record.

Is there any edit to unlock in workflow? I am able to see only actions in workflow rule.

Can you suggest something...

In workflows (in approval processes), what is usually done is, In case the approval proccess is denied (denied), the records is unlocked in order to be "amended" 

 

Anyway, in the default layout of the object you should see the 'Unlock' button with an administrator.

default layout is same as of page layout ?

I checked in page layout, I didnt find this button And I also have system admin rights.

hello, can you help me too.

I created a record and it goes to approval process. The record was locked. But I can delete it.

 

But when I am deleting the record using Data loader I cannot delete it and throwing me an error "The Record is lock for editing" where infact I can delete the record online.

 

Please help. Thanks!
