Trigger for updating a picklist from another field

HI, I want to create a trigger to update a picklist field from another picklist field in same object. I am new to trigger. Please help me with a sample code.

Hi,

 

There is no need of trigger for this.There is a concept of controlling and dependent fields.

Where you can set one field as controlling field and dependent field values are based upon on the controlling field.
