Is it possible to map a standard field.

In lead We have a standard field name "Description" and opportunity also have same standard field.

 

so is it possible that we map these two fields.

I belive if u have Description in both obj it copy the value

but still if it's not working u can write a samll trigger which run on convert & copy the values

Actually, if you want convert Lead to Opportunity and map they fields you can use standard Map Lead Fields.
