Will workflow rules or trigger gets fired on duplicate Idea merge??

Workflow rules are not firing on idea merge...Pls suggest Is it possible?????

As i came across that work flows will not fire in responce to the some set of action which took place internally (by other means of action).

could you please elaborate ?I used IsLocked field to fire a workflow but its not firing...

what i mean is if we edit some 

 

field x and expecting some work flow to fire is possible, but by the Wflow some y field gets update and expecting some more action is not always possible.

 

but there is one chance, if you check the reevaluate all work flows will let you to do one more update.

 

x -> manually update --------inresponse Work Flow updates Y. (if you select reevaluate workflows) will let the other z filed on update of y field.
