Add to products to opportunity

Hello,

 

 

Anybody explain about the following 

 

1)difference beteen products and opportunity products?

 

2) when adding procuts to opportunity internal process?

 

My requirement is send an email alert using work flows when opprtunity first time modified check it has products only

 

How to check? using workflow formula?

Products are the items and opportunity products are line items against a order. like you you buy a laptop, laptop will be product, but your order item record record will be opportunity product.

Adding products to opportunity is manual operation and yes onlyu internal user can do that.

Yes, you send email from WF rule using hasProducts field

Youi can write a workflow rule with criteria, if hasProducts = true. and add a workflow action in it to send the email alert.
