Dividing the Visual Force Pae

Hello,

I am new to salesforce,,

I want to divide the visualforce page into partions like..two verticle and three horizontal ..

please provide one example for my requirement...

Use Component.....Make one vertical ,horizontal component....Use only one controller for all of them so you dont have to pass parameter.
