Any new updates on tab order for input fields on VF page?

(Safe harbor) We're looking at supporting tabindex on all inpout fields for the Winter release.

winter 12 release you mean? and how or where can I get information about what releases happen at what time of the yr. Like how do I know when was spring 11 released?

Right, Winter '12, release in early Oct 2011. I'm not aware of where we publish release schedules, but generally:

 

Spring = Feb

Summer = June

Winter = Oct

I was able to tab vertically through two columns of input fields by using a pageBlockSection set to two columns, then using two side-by-side pageBlockSections inside this one, explicitly specifying that each be 1 column. Hope this gets you through the summer.
