Image gets appended to auto response email

Hi,

 

I have created Auto response rule for Lead object. While we receive auto response email one image tag (<img src="http://na6.salesforce.com/servlet/servlet.ImageServer?oid=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX&esid=0188000000EBtOz">) gets appended to html template.

 

Does anyone know why this image gets appended to email template? Thanks!

I believe that is a tracking image that tracks when an email is opened.

Thanks Ryan, for the reply.

 

Can we remove this image or anything else can we do. Because when we open these mails in IE browser first it shows security warning popup because of the http and https request to show the image then we can open the email.

 

Does there is any way to avoid it?
