Enable SITES to Developer Edition Org

Hi Community,

I need to enable a site to my developer org. I registered at https://www.developerforce.com/events/sitespreviewsignup/signin.php already and successfully registered but until now I cannot see the Sites link in my org. Please advise.

Thank you in advance,

jma_p

Hello and welcome jma_p

What kind of org did you use?  A developer edition, that you got from here?

http://developer.force.com/join  ?

May I ask when you created your org?  They should all have Sites automatically-enabled.

Hi Jon,

I am not sure if that is the link where I created my org but my org was created 2 years ago.

Regards,
jma

jma, can you give me your organization id?  private message it to me, and I'll investigate.

Go to setup -> Company Profile -> Company Information

Thanks

Response from support..

Dear David,

Thank you for contacting Salesforce technical support! My name is Ana and I have recently taken ownership of your case.

I understand that you are requesting to have sites enabled for your developer edition. Unfortunately, your developer account was created before sites existed as a Salesforce feature. I am afraid but we cannot enable sites for your developer account.

We really apologize, I understand that you wanted to utilize this org as much as possible, having a fair amount of "tutorial" work done on it. But I have exhausted all my resources to see if there is a work around, the only recommendation to have sites is to create a brand new Dev account with all the recent features included.

I have developer account created in 2008. Sites is not under setup->Develop->Sites

How I can enable sites?

My org url is

https://insideup-developer-edition.my.salesforce.com

Thanks

I don't think Force.com Sites was a feature until 2009/2010. I'm fairly sure that support should be able to enable this for you but if not, you'll have to create a new Salesforce instance to get this feature included.

Though dumb question:

How to contact support for my developer account, any email or URL ?

Not a dumb question at all. It's not that obvious unfortunately.

You will have to join the ISV Partner Program with the link below. You will then be given access to the partner portal where you can submit cases, generate test orgs, and manage your applications distribution.
