Link to SalesForce.com Account Details page

Hi,

This seems to be a basic question.

I want to link from my page/application to SalesForce.com's Account details page by passing the account id as parameter.

( say, using a link tag )

I do not want the user to login again.

Can someone tell me how to do this, step by step?

Do I neccessarily have to use Single Sign On ?

Thanks

When you say you don't want the user to login again, does that mean that they've already authenticated against Salesforce?  Which user license type is this?

Given that this is the sites board, I'm assuming that this is a portal license.  If you send the user to the standard salesforce account page I think you'll hit problems as portal users have to access the portal rather than standard salesforce.  You'll need to construct a link that hits the accounts within the portal.

Is this something that you've had a stab at and are hitting problems?

Thank you for the reply. This forces me to re-think the requirements.

I will get back, once I get the specs right.
