Custom field on the home page !!!

Hi 

 

I am trying to reference a custom field on the home page tab of the customer portal. I tried to refer this field in the home page component but i am not able. 

 

Is there a way , how I can  show the custom field value on the home page tab of the customer portal.

 

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Don't think so we can do this, as we can use the already provided components by salesforce and can create home page component of type "Link"  , "Image" , "HTML Area". Not tried it though but what will happen if we create a home page component of Link type and provide a visualforce page link which is showing your custom field?
