user access

shall i give access to some of the users in the organization only....and how to remove the chatter component from home page...

edit the profile, at
Profile Overview > Object Settings

change the Tab Settings of Chatter, File from Default On to Tab Hidden

Then the user will not see the Chatter Tab.
