assigning portal user

Hi,

 

can we assign portal user (authenticated site license) to a Lead?

As far as I know, Authenticated Sites users have read-only access to Account / Contact and full access to all custom objects. It does not allow assigning portal user to a Lead. Leads are available only through Partner Portal.
