File Storage vs. Chatter file storage

Hi,


Please help me figure this one out. 

 

Do files posted on chatter count against the same limits as files in 'attachment'?

 

For some reason I recall reading that files attached on chatter counted towards a different limit?

Chatter files and photos you upload are counted against file storage.

Files uploaded on the Files tab are also counted against file storage.

Hello,

 

Chatter feed posts, tracked changes, and comments don’t count toward your data storage. However, any files and photos you upload are counted against file storage. Files uploaded on the Files tab are also counted against file storage.
