Ecommerce site -Customer portal
We are planning to create an Ecommerce site by using force.com site
1) How many authenticated user allowed in the customer portal. Around 1000 users required for my Ecommerce site
2) I don’t required more than one user licence for Foce.com login.
Anyone can help me what would be the cost or which license have to go ?
There's https://login.salesforce.com/help/doc/en/users_understanding_license_types.htm.
There's no doubt in my mind that sites + portal is a great way to integrate directly with your SF data in a quick and (relatively) easy way, but just make sure that you understand and are OK with some of the limitations of the site + portal, first.
Do you need to use SSL for anything (i.e., credit card, etc.)? If, so is it acceptable for the user to see the secure.force.com domain in the URL, because Salesforce does NOT support custom SSL certs, so anything over https will show the user secure.force.com.
In addition to the number of users, you need to consider what data they'll need to have access to. Different portal licenses have different allowed permissions on different standard objects (i.e., the checkbox doesn't even show up as available to check/uncheck).
Good luck!
I know I didn't really answer your question...
Thanks for you reply...you shown some light on this...
Force.com One App user – one user licence cost is 15 $/ month ,am i able to achieve all the below requirements by using the only one user licence
So that my annual IT budget comes 15 $ * 12 =180 $
1) 100 customer portal logins
2) 20 MB file storage
3) 5 GB bandwidth/month
That's not even a Portal License. From what I gather the One App user license would be for something like if you have an App like a time tracking system or something that you have installed on your SF instance and you want to give all of your employees access to just that one App and nothing else in your SF instance.

Do you need the users to actually log in and have account information persisted or will they just be making one time purcahses? If it is just the one time purchases and no need for them to have any history or other information persisted then maybe you don't need those portal licenses and you can just have a Force.com site w/ no portal.
If you're still wanting to use Salesforce as an online eCommerce portal, you might find the Venue application useful.
Venue is a native eCommerce app that’s built entirely on Force.com; it turns Salesforce into an eCommerce platform. You’ll use the products, prices, accounts, contacts, etc. from Salesforce to run the website/store and all your sales and transactions are recorded in your Salesforce database.
Venue works with Salesforce Sites and Customer Portal (and Communities). Guest users can browse products, add them to a shopping cart, and complete purchases (i.e. make payments) all without requiring login/authentication. (Venue supports login/authentication via Customer Portal / Communities, but it is optional).
Venue is a full-featured eCommerce solution. You can fully customize your eCommerce website, process credit card and PayPal payments, get integrated tax and shipping modules, and advanced product management and discounting features.
