Grouping Chatter Groups

Is it possible to group Chatter Groups? For example I want to specify a region for a group? Is that even possible?

Grouping of Chatter Groups is something not availble at this point of time - What I've seen users doing is creating one group per region and keeping these groups as private when there is confidential data that needs to be shared between a set of people.

 

I would like to understand your use case though...

We are implementing Communities with our partners and business would like to have an attribute in Chatteg Group that will allow Partners to filter out Chatter groups based on an attribute. Some example of a Chatter Group would be Region: Northeast, Southeast, West, and etc... and like type of Products:....
