insufficient priviliges on Standard Objects

Record owner has the same profile as the person trying to delete the record.

Under profile premissions user is allowed to modify, delete etc on Oppertunity, Contacts, Lead and Accounts Objects.

Sharing Settings has been set to READ/WRITE between Group who has the same profile.

I do not wish to set Modify All on either specific objects or orgonization wide, is there a diffrent solution to this?

Thank you.

User A and User B share the same profile.

User A is the record owner and can delete the record.

User B cannot delete the record.

Can User B read or update the record?

What is the object type?

This sounds like a simple sharing problem, but there may be something else going on.  Can you provide some more details?  Does User B have a Delete button on the record?  What error message are you receiving?

D0TD0T

User B can View and Update record but cannot Delete.

User has Delte button available.

Error message is:

Insufficient Privileges
You do not have the level of access necessary to perform the operation you requested. Please contact the owner of the record or your administrator if access is necessary.

Is there maybe a Hidden or Read-Only field on the record to which User B does not have access?

D0TD0T

It is possible that there is some fields read only.

BrendanOCBrendanOC

That's your problem. User B cannot delete the whole record because he has been explicitly prohibited from modifying a field through FLS.

What would be the simplest way to check field accessability on the oppertunity object? We have about 14 products and each product has thier own page layout and custom fields.

Help and Training has detailed instructions for setting up and reviewing FLS on Standard and Custom objects.
