Does Federated authentication for Single Sign On work with the SF Outlook plugin?

If we implement Single Sign On in an organisation using federation authentication will the Outlook client work with this new setup?

Addendum: will other desktop/mobile clients work ?

Thanks in advance!

Salesforce for Outlook supports both delegated authentication and Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) requirements. When using SAML in Salesforce for Outlook, My Domain is required.

SAML is also available for:

Chatter Desktop
Chatter Mobile
Chatter for iPad
Chatter for iPhone

That's great news Jia Hu! Can you point me to a document/article/blog post that can confirm this assertion?

Thanks again!

The SAML setting is almost the same, when you configure the environment, you can test it on the clients.
