Salesforce for Twitter as unmanaged package

I'm wondering if the "Salesforce for Twitter" app might someday be available as an unmanaged package?  I'd like to take tweets and turn them into a custom object rather than a case/lead/contact/etc.

While not directly answering your question, we are actively looking at updating the Force.com toolkit for Twitter which will certainly be open source. Stay tuned for more updates by checking out blog.sforce.com regularly.

Right now the app as a whole is not scheduled to be available as an unmanaged app.  But Q is the source of truth on the toolkit.

Just to make sure it was clear - the Salesforce for Twitter app is not a toolkit which the Developer Evangelism team work on. We are however, writing an update to the Force.com for Twitter toolkit which will be 100% open source and available via github
