Salesforce for Twitter and Facebook???

Does this application only work correctly with Fan Pages and won't synch with Individual Facebook pages???

That's correct, although you can authorize an admin & bring in all associated fan pages.  The app is designed specifically for business use cases, and we see most businesses using fan pages to connect with their customers and fans.
