mbruso2 Record Type and Security
Hi,
I have two Account Record Types: Accounts and Suppliers. I currently have it configured so only specific Profiles can use both of these Record Types. Which is great for preventing users in other profiles from adding new Suppliers. However, we want these users to be able View these Suppliers. They should be able to see them listed in Views, Reports, and Lookups.
Is this possible? Is there a workaround I have not thought of yet?

The record type affects the layouts.
So if you are in a public sharing model for accounts, everyone can see Accounts and Suppliers, but based on the record type to profile mapping, users may see different layouts and thus different fields
