Chatter SmartFollow vs Chatter Connector

Has anyone played around with either of these apps?  I'm looking for something that will all users follow everyone in my org.  We have 230 users.  It looks like the SmartFollow app is more automated, but I don't want to inundate my users with "this person is following you" emails...
