why api created leads come up in chatter?


Our corporate website is generating leads to the SF platform through the meta API.


Why is chatter pushing notifications every time a lead has been created through the API? is there a way to disable this ?

We have a massive problem with this automated message, both when converting Leads via the API and via the app. (Marketing updates Contact records through the Leads system, and when the information is merged in, it generates a lead modification message in the Chatter feed on the Account.) The account managers are suddenly completely overwhelmed with meaningless "Account — User updated this account by converting a lead." messages. I have been trying to find an answer about how to discontinue this automated message, but I've come to the conclusion it's just not configurable. Has anyone found a way to modify or stop these automated feed postings from the Lead methods?
