How to Integrate Local Database to Salesforce Application

Hi ,

    i am new to salesforce.com and i want to know whether it is possible to connect salesforce to oracle database if possible then what are the possible ways

Yes - salesforce.com offers native connectors with Oracle, more here. There are also a number of AppExchange apps with integration apps.
