Dataloader 8.0 - 'Id not specified in an update call'

I have tested the data loader 8.0, using the command line and connecting this to a ms sql database.
Everything works fine, except for the update operation from my db to sfdc. I get the following error: 'Id not specified in an update call'
I have Id mapped, but should it be specified anywhere else?
Any ideas...?

Do you have the salesforce ID field mapped, or a Record Name type ID?  I believe you have to use the internal salesforce ID to do an update.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for responing Rick,

Yes, I do have the Id mapped. That is what is so weird about the  error.

Any other thoughts...?
You probably have row in your source CSV file that has no value in the mapped Id columm.
I am not using csv files, I am using MS SQL. The column exists in my table and it has a value, and the fields is mapped in the mappings file.

Hi Jay,

Were you able to get around with this error? I am encountering this error when I try to run "update" operation from SQL to Salesforce batch loader.

Any tip will be appreciated!

Never mind. It was a silly mistake on my part. I did not have "Id" field in the database.config file.
