Importing Data from Excel

Hello.  I'm a new system admin and trying to import our contact data from an excel file.  Now, my question is can I import the data I have into both Accounts and Contacts?  I want to import the certain fields that would be for the Account and then certain fields for the contacts.  Can I import them both at the same time, or would I have to just add them seperately?

You can import both Accounts and Contacts at the same time from the same Excel file.  Start the import wizard (Setup | Import | Import My Accounts & Contacts) and choose "Other Data Source" on the first screen. On subsequent pages of the wizard you select the fields  to populate the Account object and the fields  to populate the Contact object in Salesforce.  Your Excel file should be in .csv format.

Thanks.  I did a bit more looking and found the AppExchange Data Loader, which.. is sorta helping, haha.  I'm getting there.   But thanks again for the information.
