Using Picklists with Excel Connector

Is there any way to identify the acceptable picklist values when in Excel and trying to mass update records using the Excel Connector?
 
I guess I can create a dropdown list in Excel, but was wondering if there was a more integrated way?

Hi Vanceman,
We made a number of additions to the "standard" SF connector, including a function which validates the content of a column of data against the fields defined picklists, or event extract all the picklist vauels when you profile a table. Our changes are not commercialized, but we might be able to make an arrangement for you to get a copy.
