Error: Duplicate Username.

Hi,

 

I am getting this error when I tried to update user from salesforce backend.

Error: Duplicate Username.
Another user has already selected this username.
Please select another.


but there is no user in this org with same username. I have also checked all my sandboxes but I didn't find user with same username.

 

Can anybody help me to get through this.

Does the username exist elsewhere in Salesforce? A username is unique to the entire Salesforce user base, not just your organization or sandboxes.

Hi admintrmp,

 

I am not sure about username exist elsewhere in Salesforce other than my environment. Because we haven't update his username since last year and user is active. This is now happening for more than 5 users in my orgnization.

If you are absolutely certain that the username does not exist elsewhere in Salesforce, set up a case with Salesforce as they will be able to identify why you are getting this message.
