Can hackathon submissions utilize 3rd party APIs?
Absolutely! When building your mobile app, you must also use the Salesforce Platform: Force.com, Heroku, ExactTarget or one of our APIs.
Cheers!
Hi Nick/
Just to get further clarification:
We are entered as a team of two individuals.
We are employees of a company that has a developer API.
We plan to use that API in the Hackathon (in addition to Salesforce platform etc)
The company is a Delaware C corp, and we have permission from the company to join the Hackathon.
We want to make sure this qualifies as a 3rd party API.
We can provide the API documentation which the company provides to developers.

Any API that is not a salesforce.com API counts. So, bottom line, use any api that you like! Just be sure to use it in conjunction with salesforce.com platform.
