how can i connect to Oracle DBMS from Salesforce1 ?

I need to query an Oracle database from my Salesforce1 app. Can someone suggest a way of doing the same using APEX ?

There's a number of different ways to do this - Oracle offers a connector, you can use third party middleware like jitterbit/informatica, there's at least one ODBC offering on the app exchange.
