every profile is having an option API Enabled  -> Access any Salesforce.com API.. This you need to check inorder to make use of the any salesforce API.

Hi !
What do you mean by "Trial Account"? Is it Developers account? OR Trailhead playground!? or "Trial Account" ?

Are you talking about "API Enabled" Administrative permissions on Profiles?
then here is visual guide to get to this permission:

Hope you find what you need!

Have fun and kind regards

Hi, I also experience this issue. I have a developer edition trial account and I can't find the "Enable API" option available as explained in all of these comments and guides posted here. The last one that @Edgars Everts 5 referred to is an old UI for SalesForce which does not align with the new updated UI. So, it would be great if someone, prefferably from SalesForce could explain this to us since it's obvisouly still an issue, 7 years later.

BR,
Johan
