Dev Org and Person Account

hi,

so... i've read a lot, it seems SalesForce are really excited about Person Account - it's a greate thing,
only one thing - they don't allow Dev Orgs the option to enable it? (can't open a case)
is this true?

Thats not true you can create a case in dev org and request for Person account activation..

You can create a case and activate person account on your dev org BUT it is not the greatest thing as you think :)

You can't open a developer case via a developer edition org, but you can via another edition if you have one and then reference the Dev Org ID and ask for person accounts to be turned on. 

You can also ask me to do it. :)

Please make sure you've done these steps first:

1. Create at least one record type for accounts.
2. Grant read permission on contacts for profiles that have read permission on accounts.
3. Ensure that the contact sharing organization-wide default is set to “Controlled by Parent.”

Is this a recent in dev orgs @thisisnotapril. I have a dev org and I was able to send a request to activate the person account funcitonality and got it enabled.

You can definetely open a case form dev org.
