How do we accrue points in this forum?

A question on a lighter note. I am new to Salesforce and to this forum. What is the criteria that is followed to award points in the forum. Are there any benefits for the peole who accrue more? :)

The points are awarded for answering posts, being chosen as the correct answer and having your posts/answers liked.  As for the benefits, there's the fame that goes along with being known in the developer community and the satisfaction of knowing you've helped your fellow developers.  Also, if you continue to be an outstanding member in the community (doing additional things like giving talks in your local area or blogging about the platform) you could be nomitated for the MVP program [1].

What are the rules? Are the points given in real time of after a delay?

Frederic, it appears that you made the comment that was chosen as best under a different login [1] than the one you typically use [2].  You may be able to reach out to someone from Salesforce to merge the two.  I always just double check that the avatar in the top right is there before answering in. I've removed the image from all of my other success community logins.

Hi Pcon,

Well, it works fine for "Best Answer" flag, but not for likes. 
I've got 3 or 4 but counter is still on 0 and I'm sure to use my main login when posting a comment.
Any to the best pace to report this kind of things?

I think that likes only go toward your points when it is your question that is like, not your answer.
