How to add a "Custom Domain"

How to "Add Domain" in 'Domain(SetUp--> Domain Management-->Domain--> Add Domain--> Domain Name).

When i am trying to Add Domain.  I am getting the below error

Error: Salesforce.com can't validate the domain. The CNAME record may still be processing (which can take up to 24 hours), or the domain may not belong to you. Make sure the domain name rewards.mahesh.com uses rewards.mahesh.com.00xx0000000xxxxmau.live.siteforce.com as its CNAME target and try again later.

can anyone suggest me in this issue.

Note : This is not related to site Domain.

Have you set up a CNAME redirect for rewards.manesh.com to your Force.com site address?  If so, is there anything in the wiki that helps:

Hi Bob,

Any other setting needed than this CNAME .

I didn't have to do anything different - I set up the cname (I've also used aname redirects in the past without problems) and then I could pretty much immediately use the custom domain in Salesforce.
