Replace standard detail or list layout with Lightning

Is it possible to replace standard salesforce layouts with lightning component (like a visualforce page with standard conroller).

Our client would like to use SKUID to make user interface more friendly and be able to edit records right from the list view. But salesforce specialist involved in project implementation said that it is preferable to use lightning.

I could not find any confirmation in documentation that this is possible to replace standard detail or list layout with somethid build on Linghtning.

Guys, Can somebody confirm that this is possible?

I don't believe this is possible yet. I could definitely be wrong -- but ligtning components can't yet replace visualforce pages/standard layouts. At Dreamforce it was only demo'd to be basically a standalone "app" similar to viewing salesforce1 in a browser.  I think however, that this functionality is on the roadmap...#SafeHarbor

It's possible now to embed lightning components in VF pages.  That said, I'm not sure this is the right way to go.  I would say go LDS + some JS UI framework using VF remoting to interact with the server, but the jury is still out on this one.
