How to open in Subtab in Service Cloud

Hi,

In Service Cloud console, I have a Visualforce page which has a button in it. I want to open a new sub tab on click of the button in that visualforce page in the service cloud console, please let me know how to do it?

Sorry for the question being unclear. 
This requirement is for service cloud and is as below:

Let us say the Edit button for an object is overridden with a Visualforce Page and that Visualforce Page has a command button/link. On click of the command button/link should open anoather vf page(or any standard url ) in subtab. Please let me know how to achieve this?
