Beta Managed Package Component Exclusion

I am creating a simple beta managed package and want to exclude some custom fields from the package.  However, all the custom fields get automatically added when the custom object is added to the package with no obvious way of removing them.  Am I missing something simple?

Hey Paul, as you mentioned yours is a managed package - i believe there is a perm that needs to be enabled for which you will have to log a case in the Partner Community.

Thanks, Sonam.  I think the article deals with released managed packages whereas mine is only in beta.  However, I think I will log a case anyway to see what Salesforce says.
