what is issuer in SSO settings

Please let me know what detail I need to provide in Issuer column when I am configuraing SSO settings

Is it URL? or Just a authentication provide name?

Big confuse here

Issuer refers to the Entity Id of your identity provider, it is a URL that uniquely identifies your SAML identity provider. SAML assertions sent to Salesforce must match this value exactly in the attribute of SAML assertions.

The Format attribute of an statement must be set to
 
"urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:nameid-format:entity"
example
