Missing "Types" from External Data Source setup

Following this guide https://help.salesforce.com/apex/HTViewHelpDoc?id=admin_files_connect_sp_online_xds.htm&language=en_US

1. From Setup, click Develop | External Data Sources.
2. Click New External Data Source. Then set the following options.

Label: A user-friendly name for the data source displayed in theSalesforce user interface.
Name: A unique identifier used to refer to this external data sourcedefinition through the API. The Name field can contain only underscores and alphanumeric characters. It must be unique, begin with a letter, not include spaces, not end with an underscore, and not contain two consecutive underscores.
Type: Choose Files Connect: SharePoint Online or Files Connect: OneDrive for Business.

I am trying to set up a new external Data Source for Sharepoint Online and OneDrive but when I get to step 2 the only option I have for type is "None" and "Simple URL" I have followed all the previous steps for the Salesforce Files Connect setup. I am an admin and am using the Enterprise edition of salesforce.

I have tried to open a case but it keeps getting closed informing me that this is a developer issue that needs to be answered here, but to me this is something that is missing in my salesforce implementation.

I would recommend raising a support case with Salesforce for this.

Gaurav - I have raised tried to raise a support case 3 times and they keep closing it telling me it is a developer issue

Shaija - I have already completed the "Create an Authentication Provider for SharePoint" that your link references prior to this issue.

I'm having the same problem, Ryan.
Let me know if you figure it out

Same here(auth provider configured corrrectly, opened case, case was closed, etc.).
I don't see how this is per se a developer in so much as a configuration issue as there's no code that needs to be applied here, apex or otherwise...

Ryan, for me missing types became available once I created the permission set with the System Permisson "Files Connect Cloud" and assigning it to my user. I had set up the Auth Provider and ran into the same issue as you when setting up the External Source. Once I added the permission set they were available.

Steve, Files Connect Cloud is absent from my System Permission settings -- has that been replaced?  I'm experiencing the exact same issue.  Has anyone managed to get this connection up and running?  We're Enterprise Spring '16 Lightning Enabled

Maybe you haven't enabled files connect yet?  https://help.salesforce.com/HTViewHelpDoc?id=admin_files_connect_enable.htm

The reason is that the permission set created for letting users access Files Connect data sources is not assigned to your current user. https://help.salesforce.com/apex/HTViewSolution?urlname=Files-Connect-Unable-to-create-an-external-data-source&language=en_US Regards, Lior halperin
