Access device contacts using Cordova on Salesforce1

I have read that for hybrid apps, Cordova allows us to access phone contacts. Is it possible to do so in Salesforce1 app. Any links/ tutorials for it will be helpful.

This is NOT possible irrespective of whether you use Cordova or any other framework because your Visualforce page runs within the Salesforce1 container. The SF1 container is a WebView so it can't access any device contacts. I hope this helps.
