How do I stop my assignment rule whenever leads edited in salesforce

For you first step in your assigment rule do this:

This step will execute anytime a lead is not new (i.e, the lead is being edited, not created) and will stop other steps from running and re-assigning the owner.

Hi Claper,

currrently I am call the assignment rule in apex trigger on after insert event,

When I perform the insert and update operations on the same transcation that assignment rule will be fired in twice.

How to resolve this issue.???
