Spring 15 - Home Page - Full Dashboard

Can someone share how to create a VF page that displays a complete dashboard so it can be utilized as a home page component? The older questions out here refer to a HTML method that is no longer allowed by SF. I am new to VF pages and don't really know how to write one from scratch yet.
