I am also a beginner and am learning SF. SF has many features, functionality and integration abilities that learning by yourself, though possible would take a very longtime and can be daunting in my view.
My suggestion is look on-line for trainers, they come at attractive prices. They are definitely not as great as SF classes but are lot more competitive in prices. That would be the fastest way to learn.
Trailheads are best to learn all things in a very good manner regarding salesofrce..

Please create a developer or and check with trailhead..All modules and exercises are very good for beginners..
