How to create Custome Home page

Hi,
I want to create a custom home page instead of using standard one. I'm trying to create custom component by using Visualforce Area but it shows me recyclebin and chatter. Is there any workaround to hide rectclebin and chatter from home page.

You can create custom home page.therefore you will follow some steps........,
1) ---Click on setup.
2) ----click on Administer  
3)-----click on  customization.
4)-----click on home
5)-----click on home page layout
6)-----click on new .

same types you can create custom home page.
