Activity "Multiple Contacts to Task and Events" - Visualforce Issue

I am working on a simple visualforce page that creates a task. The issue I am running into is that we have turned on  the Activity Setting "Allow Users to Relate Multiple Contacts to Tasks and Events". So instead of getting the pop up window to select up to 50 contacts I get the standard pick one and your done contact picker. Thoughts?

I need this feature too. Have you managed to resolve it already? If so can you please provide some guidance.

Sadly I have not identified a solution. Hoping someone in the community comes up with something.

Forum Guys, we absolutely need this feature to be implemented in next 3 days. So please take some time and give us some tips to implement this.

What I did was add a New Contact link as a custom link on the homepage sidebar so that it is always visible to the user. It opens in a new window. They can add the Contact here and save - it will be found when going back and searching on the Event again.
