New Salesforce Certification Credentials

Hi All,

I have already register for dev 401 & just came to know that salesforce credentials for certification are changing from 14 september. I also heard that I need to give transition exam to this new certification credentials if I am dev 401 certified. 
1) is it true and what is the transition exam cost ?
2) should I cancel my exam as I need to give exam twice; one for dev 401 and again for transition ?

Please reply ASAP .

Hi Santhosh - Yes there are three new certification programs are going to avaible after 14 \th september.
1. Platform App builder
2. Platform developer 1
3. Platform developer 2

Platform app builder is more focused on the declared developments and platform developer program is for the developer role (apex, visualforce, API). If you are a certified Force.com developer then you have to take the transition exam for platform app builder, you have pay $100 for the transition exam.

If you are have enough time for the cancel the exam, please go ahead and cancel it. Prepare the new App builder certification as per the new study guide and go for it. Thanks for replying. yes I do have time to cancel the exam but let say I get certified.Within how many days I have to give transition exam?
and can you please provide me any salesforce link about this.

I belive there is no time frame given to complete the App builder certification for the Force.com developer certified (401) developers, you can take the transition exam  at any time. The reason I am asking because I already gave a commitement to my manager that I will get certified till end of this month. I need to have a valid reason for cancellation with proof. Could you please help me ?
