Ab duplicating Page layouts, belonging to different object,using eclipse
Hello,
I am duplicating a object.
I have manually recreated all the fields, trying to keep API names as same as possible.
I am now planning to duplicate the page layouts.
First thing, that came to mind is, i will duplicate the Pagelayout code using eclipse and try to fix the mis matching API name,
Have any one tried this before ?
any suggestions ?

As you may already know, the layout files are just XML files so as long as you fix the mismatching field API names, it shouldn't be any problem.
I suggest you to create it first in Salesforce and then editing it with eclipse/Notepad++ and then deploy it again with eclipse.
