How can i hide the probability standard field in the opportunity page layout ?

Hi Guys,

Can any one help me how to hide the probability standard field in the opportunity page layot. As i already have a other custom filed that says probabilty. Is there any way that i can hide it form the page lay out.

Virinchi,

You can hide field using field accessiblity settings.
Goto YourName-->setup-->Administration setup-->Security control-->field accessibilty-->Opportunity-->view by fields
Then choose the field probability then disable the Visible checkbox for all the profile.

Karanraj. I also want to get rid of the stage field in the oppurtunity but it is a required field. Can you tell me how can i get rid of these stage one also.

When I go to that section @Karanraj the options are all ghosted out and I cannot make changes? How do I hide this field
