How to display customer name in Live Agent Auto Greeting

HI all,

how can we display the customer(the person who submits the chat form) name in chat window auto greeting.

and also kindly let me know why we have auto greeting options in Chat Buttons and Automated Invitations options and Live Agent Configurations.why we have same option in 2 places?

You can use Visitor Name to merge in the customer name into the auto greeting. You can read more here (http://releasenotes.docs.salesforce.com/en-us/winter14/release-notes/rn_186_live_agent_merge_fields.htm).

i tried to use visior name merge field but it is not working.and also i noticed the visor name is auto number field in object defination.
