Profile -Readonly permission is not working

Hi ,

I have a custom profile which is cloned from system admin ,and i have a filed on the object  called "FLS field ", given as  "Readonly" for custom profile.But still the user who is assigned to custom profile can edit the field.Can anybody tell the reason why it is happening like that?

Hi,

Just uncheck 'Edit Read Only Fields' permission enlisted within Administrative Permissions on profile. When you clone from system admin profile, Administrative Permissions are also copied in the created on.

can you eloborate that 'Edit Read Only Fields' permission enlisted within Administrative Permissions on profile'. not able to find that option

Hi @pankaj,

I have ran into the same issue.

I have unchecked the Edit read only fields.

But still my profile user is able write on the field which I have kept as read only
